Match 24 IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians seek a turnaround against exhausted Rajasthan Royals

The legion of ‘Mumbai Paltan’ fans will be relieved that despite two wins in five matches so far, the five-time winners are in fourth position in the points table – where a win makes a lot of difference. What their decorated skipper Rohit Sharma will be looking for, of course, is for their drummers to come on a refreshing and different wicket in New Delhi this time around where the batmen will find life easier.

The Royals, who also have two out of five wins but are seventh in the table due to their run rate, have been stranded by injuries to two of their superstars: Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer. They will have to do with the resources available – because stealing from a foreign player in these Corona times is impossible.

It is high time that players like Shivam Dube, Rahul Tewatia or Riyan Parag support their bowlers with a greater display of responsibility if the team is to progress in the tournament.
