Maradona died just weeks after undergoing brain surgery on a blood clot.
A group of 20 experts was convened by Argentina’s prosecutor to examine the cause of death and determine whether there had been negligence.
Maradona’s neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov and psychologist Carlos Diaz are under investigation, along with two nurses, a nurse coordinator and a medical coordinator.
The finding could result in a wrongful death case and a prison sentence of up to 15 years if convicted.
The legal proceedings were sparked by a complaint filed by two of Maradona’s five daughters against Luque, who they blamed for their father’s deteriorating state of health after the brain surgery.
