Monday’s Indian Premier League game between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bangalore has been postponed after two players from Kolkata tested positive for the coronavirus.

Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier returned positive tests and isolated themselves from the rest of the Kolkata team.

The Knight Riders will now begin a regime of daily testing with the aim of identifying any other possible cases of Covid as quickly as possible.

The team will also investigate Chakravarthy and Warrier’s movements over the previous 48 hours to determine one of their close contacts.

An IPL statement on Monday morning read: “The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and the Kolkata Knight Riders prioritize the health and safety of all involved and all measures are taken in this regard. effort.
