England on major tour ahead of T20 World Cup: Misbah

Derby [UK], Jun 27 (ANI): Pakistani head coach Misbah-ul-Haq considers the England series to be an important tour for visitors with the T20 World Cup set to be played later this year in mind.

The tour is expected to play three ODI and as many T20I matches against England and five T20I and two test matches against the West Indies.

“England are still an important tour for us, especially with the T20 World Cup in a few months. We know England are a force in white ball format so this is a great opportunity for us to play against them, “Misbah said in a virtual press conference according to PCB.

Misbah can’t wait to see the spectators on the ground because their presence always motivates the players on the pitch.

“We came here also last year, but when there are spectators on the ground, the atmosphere becomes completely different and I can feel it,” said Misbah- “I don’t know if we can go out or meet people. friends here but we are in quarantine for the last seven days which have been tough days but we will start training tomorrow.

“As the head coach, I would prefer to be locked out because it allows us to stay together as a team, it doesn’t matter if we’re in a team room, dining room or on the floor. Last year, when we came here, we were cut off from our families but the whole team became a family, ”he added.

The former Pakistani skipper hopes that seven days of training in Derby will be very useful for the players to regain their form.

“We have to understand that form is not permanent, so we’re going to try to use that isolation time to bring back their (players) form.

“We look forward to competitive cricket against the host country. The good thing is that our bench force is strong enough to counter any team in all conditions,” Misbah concluded. (ANI)
