Powerful and efficient racing drones: Airspeeder Mk3
Posted On July 4, 2021
Inspired by the success of Formula 1 racing, millionaire Matt Pearson reinvented racing in the sky with the Airspeeder Mk3. The powerful drone is designed as a high performance airborne racing car that will compete with other such drones in the EXA racing series. The remotely piloted Airspeeder Mk3 recently completed test flights and will compete in three races in 2021. Pearson has announced crewed flights could begin as early as 2022.
The Airspeeder Mk3 is an eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) octocopter with an elegant aerodynamic body. The body is made of carbon fiber, a strong, stiff and light material. Given its advanced design, the Airspeeder Mk3 can reach a top speed of 124 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.
