Liverpool’s pre-season preparations are underway following Jurgen Klopp & Co’s arrival in Austria for their training camp.
On the program is a grueling fitness program and friendly matches against Mainz – Klopp’s former team – and Hertha Berlin later this month.
Ahead of their meetings with the two Bundesliga clubs, the Reds will also face Austrian side Wacker Innsbruck and German side Stuttgart in 30-minute games behind closed doors.
Klopp will be eager to put his squad to the test, although his squad remains largely unchanged with Ibrahima Konate the only addition to date.
That may be about to change, however, the Reds have reportedly given a boost in pursuit of two targets in midfield, while there is an encouraging update on Mohamed Salah as well.

The reds make Salah progress
In an important update on Mohamed Salah’s contract situation, Liverpool have reportedly started talks with the Egyptian on a new deal.
There was a lot of speculation about Salah’s future last season amid lingering transfer links with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris-Saint-Germain.
Speaking in May, the prolific 29-year-old said Anfield chiefs have yet to speak to him about extending his deal, which will expire in 2023.
“Nobody talks to me about it, so I can’t say much about it,” Salah said. Air sports . “No one in the club talks to me about anything so I don’t know.”
But transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says negotiations are now underway, although talks are still in their infancy.
“This [contract talks between Liverpool and Salah] is not yet at the final stage, ”said Romano Anfield Watch . “They have spoken but nothing is done yet.”
Tielemans desperate for move to Merseyside
Liverpool’s hopes of signing Youri Tielemans have been boosted as the Leicester City midfielder presses to move to Anfield this summer.

The Reds have been linked with many midfielders across Europe after Georginio Wijnaldum left, but Tielemans is seen as a priority target.

Liverpool gave Sanches a boost
If Liverpool fail in their pursuit of Youri Tielemans, they could turn to Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
The Reds have been linked with the 23-year-old since his brilliant performances for Portugal at Euro 2020, after helping Lille claim the Ligue 1 title.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are said to face competition for the signing of Sanches from Barcelona, but the le10sport claim the Catalan giants cannot afford to sign him this summer.
The French outlet also said Lille demanded 35million euros (£ 30million) for Sanches, who is under contract for another two years.
