Other African athletes have already joined Tokyo. This is the case of the South African rugby sevens team. But the Blitzboks were placed in Covid-19 quarantine upon their arrival in the Japanese capital. A passenger on their flight has indeed tested positive for Covid-19. Federer withdraws, Team USA returns to victory

The world number 9 was crowned in doubles with compatriot Stan Wawrinka in Beijing in 2008. Federer also won silver in singles in London (2012).

Finally Team USA wakes up. After two defeats against Nigeria (90-87) and Australia (91-83), Popovich’s men defeated Argentina (108-80) on Tuesday in Las Vegas. The Americans will challenge Australia again on Friday June 16 and Spain for the preparation times.
