Dubai: Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, urged the board to draw up an executive plan for the development of the sports sector in Dubai for the next 10 years, related to the pace of development in other areas of Dubai as well as in line with Dubai government plans to increase the culture of sport and physical activity in every segment of the community.
Speaking at the fourth Board meeting of the year, held virtually on Tuesday, Mansoor stressed that success in sport and winning titles depends not only on the quality of players, coaches or budgets, but also good planning and preparation through training camps and friendlies.
The meeting discussed a detailed report on Dubai’s sports budget for the next year, as well as a report on the progress made by sports clubs and businesses in Dubai towards self-sufficiency and the projects undertaken by Dubai. sports clubs and football companies to optimize their resources.
Encourage the Emiratis
The Council stressed that all clubs must continue their efforts to encourage every UAE citizen to play sports and provide them with the opportunity to play sports in a safe atmosphere.
The Council also reviewed the preparations for the major sporting events to be held in Dubai during the coming period, including the major international championships which will be held in the country for the first time, in cooperation with EXPO 2020 Dubai and in coordination with various international sports federations.
The Dubai Sports Sector Plan, developed by the Dubai Sports Council under Mansoor’s guidance, will be implemented at many different levels, with a particular focus on the capacity of Dubai sports clubs and institutions to attract top talent in different sports and win championships. and titles.
