Jaden Shackelford announces his return to Alabama

Alabama’s top scorer Jaden Shackelford announced Tuesday night that he would step down from the transfer portal and return to Alabama for his junior year.

“Now it’s time to finish what we started … RUN IT BACK!” he posted on Twitter, in part.

The 6-foot-3 goaltender averaged 14.0 points per game in 33 games (32 starts) for Alabama, who finished first in the SEC and won the SEC tournament. The Crimson Tide secured a second seed in the NCAA tournament and advanced to Sweet 16, where they lost to Final Four-linked UCLA in overtime.

Shackelford entered his name on the transfer portal earlier this month, telling one outlet he was suing Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech as possible destinations.
