Match day updates

Final – Hounds wins 1-0. A game well played. I would still like to see another goal or two but a win nonetheless. Matt Gajtka will write the full recap of the match. He should also have a post-match video with him soon.

90 ′ – 3 minutes of added downtime. What predicted perfectly by Matt Gajtka.

79 ′ – Big shot from Dixon’s left foot just stopped by Fordah. Hounds showing flurry once Velarde, Williamson and Perez entered the match.

77 ′ – Kimarni Smith receives a yellow card for his hard tackle on Perez.

75 ′ – Ferrin with a good free kick opportunity saved again by Vitiello. I think the Hounds are tired there, so Lilley is finally making subs.

Perez, Williamson and Velarde for Cicerone, Dikwa and Wharton.

73 ′ – The last replacement for Loudoun is Tyler Gabarra for Allexon Saravia at the right back.

70 ′ – Paz with another shot on goal for Loudoun. This one is much harder to stop but Vitiello is here again.

68 ′ – Daniel Rovira now receives a yellow card.

63 ′ – Darluis Paz with what I think is Loudoun’s first shot on goal. Easy saving directly in the hands of Vitiello.

61 ′ – Loudoun has made four subs in this half so far. Ferrin, Paz, Smith and Greene replace Di Rosa, Gamble, Garay and Landry. Change a tired midfielder.

58 ′ – Dikwa remakes the bike. I think it’s the fifth time he’s done this this season. He will eventually get it.

55 ′ – Loudoun’s indirect free kick in the box is blocked by Danny Griffin. The greatest luck to date for Loudoun. The dogs remain up 1-0.

52 ′ – Another sneak pass from Forbes to Dixon. Cicerone almost logs on to Dixon’s cross. Big touches from Dixon and Forbes tonight. Great on the ball.

49 ′ – Forbes makes an incredible ball pass. Divide it between three guys across the field in Cicerone. There’s a reason Forbes is in the top 5 for chances created and eighth for crosses done in USL.

45 ′ – Beginning of the second half. Doesn’t look like any submarine yet.

Half – Riverhounds are playing a very solid half. Allow only one shot and none on goal. The players are doing very well. Let’s see if they can add one or two more lenses, because that’s what Bob will want to see.

45 ′ – Only 1 minute of added downtime.

41 ′ – Dixon hits the post !! Cicerone prepares him with a pass across the surface. Good luck but no goal.

Allexon Saravia on Loudoun received a yellow card for his fault on Rovira.

38 ′ – Vitiello comes out of his nets. Ball passed him but Wiedt erased him.

36 ′ – Allexon Saravira fails to clear a ball. Jumping his head for a corner. The dogs almost converted a low, hard Dixon shot from 30 yards.

32 ′ – Rovira makes nice touches on the left side. Corner kick now for the Hounds is played short… Wharton hits a shot over the net.

25 ′ – Kairou Amoustapha on Loudoun smashes Kilwien in Vitiello inside the box. This is called a fault.

22 ′ – Wharton with a superb pass for Dikwa 40 meters away. Right on his foot, but called offside. Wharton has had a great playing season so far.

18 ′ – The game was officially called a goal for Cicerone and an assist for Dikwa. Cicerone now has a career-high 6 goals and Dikwa gets his third assist.

14 ′ – The rain is back in Pittsburgh. Ball jumps really fast over there. Dogs clearly dominate so far.

7 ′ – Riverhounds scores early !! Wharton did it. A brilliant pass in the box to Dixon crosses him and Dikwa’s shot finds its way. 1-0 hunting dogs

3 ′ – Kenardo Forbes officially plays his 100th game tonight for the Riverhounds. He is the all-time leader in USL assists at 41 and is tied for the team record at 27 assists with David Flavius. Could break the organization’s record tonight.

1 ′ – The game begins! Hopefully no heavy rain tonight for the fans and no lighting delays.

We might as well mention that the Riverhounds academy team won their first game in their history 2-0 today at Highmark Stadium. The match was delayed for an hour due to rain. The main team tonight is looking to add the second win of the day for the organization.

Look for the starting lineups and in-game updates that will be posted here throughout the evening, as well as post-match reactions.

Here is Mark Goodman’s scout report and a preview of Saturday’s game …

Preview: Vengeance Against Loudoun?

For the third time this season, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will face Loudoun United FC in an Atlantic Division battle.

This time around, however, the Hounds will be the hosts, as the teams meet at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Highmark Stadium after playing the first two games in Virginia. The game will be televised on 22 The Point and broadcast via ESPN +.

Loudoun (2-9-0) got the better of the Hounds (6-4-3) for the first time in three years of clashes during the last meeting on June 30. Louis Perez scored his first professional goal for the dogs, but it was not enough, as the goals of Ted Ku-Di Pietro other Jovanny bolivar gave Loudoun the 2-1 victory after six straight losses to the Hounds.

The Hounds earned a 3-2 victory in the first meeting with Loudoun on June 2, and the loss in the most recent game is the Hounds’ only loss in the last seven games, a streak in which the team went 4-1. -2.

With 10 days since their previous clash, the Hounds will arrive rested, although they are somewhat understaffed with four players – Jordan Dover (lower body), Josh gatt (knee), Jelani peters (international duty) and Mekeil Williams (international duty) – everything is excluded. With three of the missing players being defenders, there’s a more than fair chance Tom Judge, this year’s 36th MLS SuperDraft pick who joined the team last week on loan from Nashville SC, will have his name on the roster.

Loudoun, meanwhile, played at home on Sunday when he lost 4-1 to Miami FC. This game was closer than the final score indicated, as Loudoun missed a penalty in the first half that would have equalized the game, and the score remained 1-0 until the 70th minute.
