Real Madrid could sell striker Luka Jovic this summer despite spending around € 63million for the striker two years ago.
The 23-year-old has failed to live up to the Santiago Bernabeu bill, scoring just twice in 21 La Liga appearances.
And he was loaned out last season, scoring four in 18 Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt.
Ahead of this season, Jovic would have been hoping for a fresh start under new boss Carlo Ancelotti, but he’s not off to a particularly good start.
The Serbian has not been with Real Madrid’s main training squad during the preseason this week, instead spending time recovering from a muscle injury, with Ferland Mendy.
And a report in Mundo Deportivo claims that Real Madrid are ready to sell Jovic this summer if a “juicy” offer arrives.
It is clear that Real Madrid are not going to get their money back from Jovic and that a significant loss in fees of € 63m is a given, with Transfermarkt now valuing the striker at just € 20m.
But if Jovic isn’t on Ancelotti’s plans, Los Blancos might be better off cutting their losses, and that just might be the plan, as long as there is interest.
