Dani Ceballos wants to stay at Real Madrid

Dani Ceballos would like to stay at Real Madrid.

According to Spanish newspaper Diario AS, the Spaniard wants to stay in the capital.

In an interview with AS, he said: “You have to know what the coach wants, and you have to be objective.

“But my intention is to play for Real Madrid next year. I have always wanted to do important things at this club and I will fight for that.”

The 24-year-old delivered a fantastic performance in Spain’s friendly against Japan ahead of the 2020 Olympics.

Ceballos was one of Luis de la Fuente’s best assets against the Japanese, accompanying Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi to the center of the park.

He signed for Madrid in July 2017 for € 17million. He was billed as one of Spain’s top talents and won the MVP title at the 2017 European Under-21 Championship.

However, he failed to play regularly for Madrid, showing only a glimpse of his talent. He has scored five goals in 56 games in all competitions for Madrid.

After spending two years on loan at Premier League club Arsenal, Ceballos is back as a better player.

He improved his physique while playing in the English top flight and now thinks the time has come to make his debut in Madrid’s first team.

The midfielder was extremely admired by manager Carlo Ancelotti during his time in Napoli.

Madrid hope to avoid repeating last year’s mistake where they lacked coverage for Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro.

They were forced to remove local players from the ‘B’ Castilla squad, such as Antonio Blanco and Sergio Arribas.

Ceballos’ contract runs until 2023, and he will be desperate to prove himself this season with the Spanish giants.
