Buffalo Bills and Sabers fans will soon need to be fully immunized to attend games.
All Highmark Stadium and KeyBank Center guests must be fully immunized after Sunday, October 10. On January 31, Erie County Director Mark Poloncarz announced Tuesday.
On Sunday, September 26, when Bills welcomes Washington, all guests will be required to provide proof of at least one dose of vaccine. This will remain in effect for Sunday October 10. Game 3 against the Houston Texans, and until Oct. 31 against the Miami Dolphins.
After Oct. 31, all guests must prove that they are fully immunized.
“As per directive from the Erie County Department of Health, the Buffalo Bills and Highmark Stadium announced today that all guests aged 12 and over will be required to provide proof of at least one dose of vaccination. COVID-19 to attend Bills games at Highmark Stadium until October 31, when guests will be required to provide full proof of vaccination, ”the Bills statement read.

“It was a joint decision between the Pegula organization and the county. We believe that the only way to ensure a real atmosphere of safety is to have people vaccinated,” Poloncarz said.
Guests under 12 can enter without vaccination, but will be required to wear masks at all times. Vaccinated guests over the age of 12 will not need to wear a mask at Highmark Stadium.
“This is a natural flow of what’s going on in society with the tests and the virus,” said Ron Raccuia, vice president of Pegula Sports and Entertainment.
The Sabers host their first game at KeyBank Center on Friday, October 10. 1 in a preseason game against Pittsburgh on October 10. On the 25th, Buffalo welcomes Tampa Bay in its last home game before the fully vaccinated tenure comes into effect.
For vaccine verification, guests will be asked to provide one of the following:
- Physical vaccination record
- New York State Excelsior Pass
- CLEAR digital vaccine card
- Government digital vaccine proof from outside the NYS.
Photos of vaccination cards will not be accepted as proof of vaccination. Neither wants negative test results.
There will be no exceptions.
“You can take a test and theoretically catch (COVID-19) five minutes after the test,” Poloncarz said.
Vaccines will be offered by Erie County from noon to 8 p.m. at Highmark Stadium on September 22, September 29, October 29. 6 and Oct. 13.
Pegula Sports and Entertainment’s vaccination policy will actually begin with a non-sporting event on Saturday, September 25, when Eric Church performs at KeyBank Center.
“Pegula’s commitment has always been 100% about fan safety,” Raccuia said.
Season Bills ticket holders who do not meet vaccination verification requirements may request a pro-rated refund. The handing over of tickets, however, will terminate the benefits of season tickets and fans will lose their seat and seniority.
Refund requests must be received by 8 p.m. on Friday, September 17.
