The supporters return for the resumption of the league

New Delhi [India], Sept. 15 (ANI): The 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) resumes with five-time champions and current title holders Mumbai Indians taking on three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 19.

This match will be a momentous occasion as IPL will welcome fans to the stadiums after a brief hiatus due to the Covid-19 situation, BCCI said in a statement.

The 14th season, which was postponed to May this year following the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume on September 19 in Dubai with a successful clash between the Chennai Super Kings and reigning Indian champions Mumbai. The action will then move to Abu Dhabi where the Kolkata Knight Riders will face the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Sharjah will host its first game on September 24 when the Royal Challengers Bangalore face the Chennai Super Kings. A total of 13 matches will take place in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah and 8 in Abu Dhabi.

The Board of Directors has developed a 46-page health notice that sets out all the advice that everyone associated with the IPL must follow in order to keep the league running smoothly. (ANI)
