Barcelona were back in training on Saturday and were able to welcome a host of players again after the international break.
Memphis Depay, Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo were all back from international duty, while new signing Luuk de Jong had another session with his new teammates under his belt.
The team were due to play Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday, but as that game has been postponed, the focus is now on Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Bayern at Camp Nou.
Ronald Koeman has some pre-game injury concerns, especially in defense with Gerard Pique, Sergino Dest and Jordi Alba all struggling.
Alba did not finish Saturday’s session but should be fit enough to face Bayern, while Dest is “almost excluded” from the game with an ankle problem, according to AS.
The report adds that Pique is expected to get the medical go-ahead on Monday and start on Tuesday, but forward Martin Braithwaite could miss out as he still suffers from a knee injury.
Koeman is also still without Ansu Fati, Sergio Aguero and Ousmane Dembele due to injury, but will be able to welcome Pedri again after a holiday as well as the fit-back Philippe Coutinho.
Barca’s injuries, as well as Antoine Griezmann’s departure on deadline day, mean Koeman will have to make changes in attack and defense for Tuesday, which should make for a pretty interesting squad sheet.
