MANILA, Philippines – Dennis Orcollo and Carlo Biado led seven other Filipinos who competed in the second round of the US Open Pool Championship at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Asian Games gold medalist Orcollo beat his first two opponents – shutting out Argentinian Miguel Medieta, 9-0, and whipping American Paul Spaanstra, 9-2.
Biado, a former world champion, snatched Steve Fleming from the United States, 9-2, and dominated Vincent Beauvirage of Canada, 9-3.

The two, however, face a tall order in their next game on Thursday. Orcollo faces Corey Deuel, winner of the prestigious event in 2001, while Biado faces the former world number one. 1 Mika Immonen from Finland in the race to-11.
Veteran artists Jeff De Luna, Roberto Gomez and Warren Kiamco also swept their first two contests.
Jeffrey Ignacio, Johann Chua and James Aranas have also remained unharmed so far.
But not all Filipinos left because Daniel Dagotdot and Dan Segui were sent early.
