Liverpool [UK], September 24 (ANI): Liverpool FC head coach Jurgen Klopp expects Thiago Alcantara to return to action after the upcoming international break.
The midfielder suffered a calf problem in last weekend’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace at Anfield and is expected to miss Saturday’s trip to Brentford. Klopp has revealed that Thiago will also be excluded from upcoming matches with FC Porto and Manchester City.
The Liverpool boss said in his pre-match press conference, according to liverpoolfc.com: “It’s not 100% clear when Thiago will be back. He’s a muscle in the calf problem, so after the international break probably – I don’t. “Meanwhile, Liverpool continue to monitor the foot problem that Naby Keita noted in the first half of the Carabao Cup meeting at Norwich City on Tuesday.
Like Thiago, the issue will prevent the midfielder from participating in the Reds’ next outing and potentially the Champions League game in Portugal that follows.
Klopp said: “[It’s] nothing really serious, but that keeps him out of the next game for sure – and maybe a little longer, we have to see. “(ANI)
