Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Rhett Rodriguez was hospitalized after Saturday’s 29-16 win over Troy at Malone Stadium.
Rodriguez is on a ventilator in intensive care. ULM offensive coordinator Rich Rodriguez, father of Rhett, tweeted on Sunday that his son suffered a lung injury from Troy. Rhett shared the snaps with Chandler Rogers on Saturday.
“Our family would like to thank everyone who reached out with their thoughts and prayers for Rhett,” Rich Rodriguez said in a tweet.
The ULM declined to comment on Rodriguez’s condition, citing privacy laws.
Rodriguez, an Arizona transfer, joined the Warhawks for spring training alongside his father. In three games, Rodriguez completed 35 of 62 passes for 337 yards and a touchdown.
