Beagle named NSIC preseason swimmer of the year

SIOUX FALLS, SD – For the second year in a row, swimmer Augustana Taylor Beagle was named the NSIC preseason swimmer of the year, while Augustana was selected to finish fourth in the NSIC preseason coaches poll, the league office said Thursday.

Beagle, a native of Lead, South Dakota, is a two-time return NSIC swimmer of the year and swimmer of competition at the NSIC Championships. In the playoffs last year, Beagle won three All-America honors while lowering two of his own school records in the 400 IM (4: 22.76) and 500 freestyle (4: 57.38).

The Head Coach Lindsie Micko entering his sixth season as the head of the Augustana swim and diving program and brings seventeen newcomers to compete for the Vikings this year as well as the first year of diving for Augustana.

The Vikings will begin their season on the weekend of October. 8 first cap to Brookings for a duel against SDSU. Augustana then travels to St. Paul, Minnesota, for a duel against St. Thomas.
