MotoGP 2022 calendar unveiled with two first circuits

PARIS: The MotoGP World Championship unveiled its 2022 calendar on Thursday, with 21 races including first visits to the Finnish circuit of KymiRing and the Indonesian circuit of Mandalika.

Marc Marquez, Fabio Quartararo and the rest of the peloton will come into action under the Qatari spotlight on March 6 in a 2022 season that runs until November 6 at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia.

In addition to the new races, five non-European destinations are back on the route after being canceled due to Covid this year. Argentina, Japan, Thailand, Australia and Malaysia are all back in the fold.

Finland and Indonesia were set to return to the world tour in 2020, but their inclusions were also victims of the global pandemic. – AFP
