London [UK], Oct. 13 (ANI): AFC Bournemouth confirmed on Wednesday that midfielder David Brooks has been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma.
He left international service with Wales last week and after a medical examination he was confirmed to have stage II Hodgkin lymphoma.
Following this, David will undergo treatment the next week after an initial positive prognosis.
“This is a very difficult message for me to write. I have been diagnosed with stage II Hodgkin lymphoma and will start treatment next week. While it was a shock to me and my family, the prognosis is positive. and I am confident that I will make a full recovery and return to play as soon as possible, ”David said in an official statement.
“I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, consultants and staff who treated me for their professionalism, warmth and understanding during this time. I would like to thank everyone at the Football Association of Wales because without the ‘prompt attention from their medical team, we may not have detected the disease,’ he added.
General Manager Neill Blake added: “Everyone at AFC Bournemouth will do everything possible to help David and his family during his recovery. well and will do whatever we can to help with that, ”he added. (ANI)
