Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has scored in Barcelona’s long-delayed unofficial debut.
Aguero, 33, had been sidelined by a calf injury suffered just before this season’s kick-off. The 2021 Copa America winner with Argentina signed a two-year deal in May, arriving on a free transfer to end a ten-year attachment to the Sky Blues.
The ex-Atletico Madrid star enjoyed a smooth – and productive – return to action midweek. He was hooked shortly after scoring in a 30-minute appearance against lower league EU Cornella which ended in a 2-2 draw at Barca’s training ground.
Aguero will be hoping to be available to bow out against Valencia in La Liga on Sunday.
