Ashes is hoping Will Pucovski’s concussion issues have returned, with reports today that the young Victorian is suffering from late-onset symptoms after an incident in training last week.
First reported by The Australian, Cricket Victoria has confirmed that an incident occurred last Tuesday.
Puvocski was reportedly struck while in the net, but no symptoms were immediately evident and he felt the effects for the first time the next day. It is estimated that he suffered up to 10 concussions during his young career.

“Will is currently managing his recovery in consultation with CV medical staff. He looks forward to returning to training as soon as he is able to do so,” said a statement from Cricket Victoria.
This is another terrible setback for Pucovski, whose presence in the test team in early 2021 was brief. He suffered a shoulder injury while fielding in his only test appearance that summer at SCG.

The 23-year-old shone at the state level, scoring 1,816 points in just 38 innings, averaging 53.41.
He first gained the attention of the general public towards the end of 2020, when he published Two Double Centuries for Victoria in the span of a fortnight.
Pucovski was the favorite to team up with David Warner atop the batting order when the Ashes start in December, but that setback opens the door for others, including Marcus Harris, to step into the frame.
