Hugo Broos intends to play the 2022 World Cup play-offs

As the fourth day of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup comes to an end, Hugo Broos is already looking at the deadlines. The coach of South Africa intends to play the dams. To do this, he must imperatively finish at the top of Group G.

The Bafana Bafana are currently first in their group with ten points. They are closely followed by Ghana (9 pts). A separate point for the two teams. The last two days will therefore be decisive for the rainbow nation. And the Belgian technician is confident for his team. “If the situation is as it is now and we go to Ghana one point ahead, Ghana will have to win. They will have no other solutions ” says the 69-year-old coach. Hugo Broos counts however “Fight to the death” to obtain this qualification.

A status quo in October

The two teams have also emerged victorious from their double confrontation in October. Respectively against Zimbabwe and Ethiopia. Hugo Broos’ men will face Zimbabwe on Matchday 5 before meeting the Blacks. These, on the other hand, will discover some with Ethiopia. The two teams will meet again next November for the sixth day of the playoffs. But a loss of the Ghanaians to the Ethiopians will also do the business of the former coach of Cameroon. “I hope my colleague can give me a gift next month by beating Ghana” he jokes.
