Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino insisted he was “happy” at Paris St Germain amid reports he was Manchester United’s first choice to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Pochettino is reportedly interested in joining United, perhaps even before the end of the season, but said speculation is part of football and he remains happy in Paris.
“I am happy in Paris. I know the city well both as a player and a coach, I have always experienced this type of situation, ”said Pochettino.
“Things happen and it’s not my responsibility. What I’m going to say if you ask me is that I’m happy in Paris. “
Asked more about United’s interest, Pochettino said: “My focus is on football. I’m not a kid, I’m not a kid. I’ve spent my whole life playing football.
“We are in a business that the rumors are out there, I understand that. This is the world we live in.
“I am so happy at Paris Saint-Germain. We are so focused on trying to achieve the best possible results.
“I told you all, my contract is until 2023. It’s for one more season. I’m not saying anything different. I am very happy at Paris Saint-Germain. It’s a fact. I am happy in Paris.
“My respect for my club – PSG. What another club does is none of my business. I am not going to make the mistake of speaking.
“Things are misunderstood and out of context. I love PSG and the fans. It’s a fantastic time to be part of the club. “- Agencies
