UNIVERSITY OF NIAGARA, NY – Niagara Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Head Coach Eric bugby announced the addition of Emma Bonan as assistant coach of his team.
We are delighted that Emma is joining Purple & White, “said Bugby.” She will bring a high level of coaching, recruiting and mentoring to our program. There is no doubt that Emma will help shape the culture of the team as our swimmers and divers excel in the classroom and battle for a MAAC title. “
Bonan will be in charge of recruiting student-athletes for the men’s program, in addition to coaching the mid-distance free and distance groups.
Bonan comes to Monteagle Ridge after spending five seasons as an assistant coach at Clarkson, where she assisted the head coach in several tasks.
“I am delighted to join this great team,” said Bonan. “I am delighted to be working with the team and to see what this season has in store for us.”
During the 2019-20 school year, Bonan also served as an assistant at Glens Falls High School, where she previously worked as an assistant coach in 2013-14. While at Glens Falls HS, Bonan assisted with practices and team meetings.
Bonan graduated from Clarkson in 2012 with a chemistry degree, then continued with a Masters in Chemistry Education at SUNY Potsdam in 2013.
A member of the Golden Knights swim team for four years from 2008-2012, Bonan was the captain of Clarkson for two years and is still a member of the school’s record-setting 800m freestyle relay team. in February 2009 in Nottingham. , New York. She also placed 29th in the 500 freestyle in 2011 at the UNYSCSA competition and 32nd in the 100 freestyle (56.85 seconds) at the UNYSCSA 2012 competition.
