Steve Bruce is reportedly interested in becoming Manchester United’s new interim head coach, according to the son of veteran manager Alex Bruce.
The Red Devils sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday and revealed they will be looking to name a new interim boss for the remainder of the 2021-2022 campaign.
Steve Bruce, who recently left Newcastle United, has been linked to his son’s post and has said the 60-year-old will be open for the job at Old Trafford.

“Who knows? I think everyone knows he has a great relationship with the club. If they needed him I’m sure he would be there to help,” Alex Bruce told Sky Sports News .
“I think they need a world class elite manager. If they can’t find someone right now, then I’m sure they’d be willing to do it.
“In the long term, it’s important that the hierarchy picks the next manager and gives anyone time to improve the squad and time to improve the squad and put Manchester United where they need to be.
“Dad has a lot of experience. He knows a lot about the club. One thing you can say about the people there right now is that they don’t have a lot of experience. Whether they want someone to come and give them a hand for now if they don’t take that elite nomination, we’ll just have to watch this space. “
